Julião Sarmento: Timeline is a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the artist's drawing practice. Comprising fifty-one works on paper ranging from 1966 to 2017, the exhibition explores the lexicon of visual signs the artist recursively uses in hybrid graphic procedures.

The piece, which was first performed in 2009, takes place in a hotel room and is designed to be witnessed by one person at a time. Set to original music specially composed by Portuguese musician Paulo Furtado, aka The Legendary Tigerman, Cometa is a study of the longings, desire and discomfort that attends the close encounter of strangers.

Julião Sarmento will unveil his sculpture Two Gemini on December 2nd in a public dedication ceremony in Matosinhos, Portugal. The sculpture was commissioned to commemorate Manuel da Silva Passos and José da Silva Passos, two brothers who made an indelible mark on Portuguese politics in the 19th century. Two Gemini captures the pioneering spirit of the two radical democratic leaders.
