Patricia Phelps de Cisneros donates over 200 works to prominent museums

Patricia Phelps de Cisneros has donated 202 works from her collection of Latin American art – including contemporary and experimental works created since the 1960s by 91 artists from 22 countries – to six major museums in the U.S., Europe and South America. Among the works donated are those by Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Waltercio Caldas and Miguel Rio Branco.

Miguel Rio Branco at Oi Futuro Flamengo

Miguel Rio Branco will present the exhibition Wishful Thinking at Oi Futuro Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The exhibition will present an immersive installation of work completed by Rio Branco in recent years, in which he reflects on his time living outside of Rio, close to nature.

Miguel Rio Branco is the subject of a solo exhibition, When I die I will take nothing, at Museu de Arte de São Paulo in Brazil. The exhibition features 61 photographs from the series Maciel, produced in 1979 in the neighborhood of Maciel, an area known for prostitution, in the district of Pelourinho, Salvador, Bahia. This is the largest presentation of the series to date, with a selection of the works in the show being exhibited for the first time.
