Allan Sekula: OKEANOS will open on February 21, 2017 at Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) in Augarten, Austria. The exhibition brings together selections of Sekula's body of work addressing his research into maritime space. Through photographic series and filmic works, OKEANOS will engage Sekula's most pointed critiques of the maritime industries, namely globalization’s deregulated liquid spaces, lax environmental policies and sub-par labor standards.

A two-day symposium bringing together reasearchers, artists and curators is planned in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, creating a dialogue that will address the socio-political nature of Sekula's work. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a publication.

Allan Sekula: OKEANOS will be on view from February 21 - May 14, 2017. For more information on the exhibition, click here. For more information on the symposium, click here.
