On March 22, La Casa Encendida will present un nido para protegerse de la rapiña y las alimañas (A Nest to Protect Itself From Predators and Vermin), a new book imagined by Antonio Ballester Moreno and Rafael Sánchez-Mateos Paniagua. Presented in conjunction with Ballester Moreno's current exhibition, Long Live the Free Fields of Spain!, on view at La Casa Encendida through April 23, 2017, the story draws inspiration from sculptor Alberto Sánchez's Monument to the Birds.

un nido para protegerse de la rapiña y las alimañas is the first publication by Lamadriguera Editions. The event is part of the Chimenea Project programming, a series of events inspired by exhibitions at La Casa Encendida, including exhibition tours, workshops, talks and meetings, both formal and informal, that allow participants to reflect upon the many approaches to contemporary creation. The event will take place at La Casa Encendida on Wednesday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
