João Louro is featured in the exhibition Un Certain Regard at Centro de Artes Visuais in Coimbra, Portugal. The exhibition is comprised of works from the Norlinda and José Lima Collection.

With Un Certain Regard, CAV continues its project of presenting the most important art collections in Portugal; a program started in 2003 with the exhibition of the Serralves Foundation collection. The Norlinda and José Lima Collection began in the 1980s by shoemaker, José Lima, and is composed of 32 artists and over 1000 works, with a focus on photography in the arts. In an attempt to rekindle the eclectic and passionate tastes of the collectors, the exhibition presents a diverse array of artists and works that seek to represent the romantic and unusual efforts carried out by collectors completely outside of the artistic circuit, who nevertheless were able to create a reference collection at the national level.

Artists featured in the exhibition include Alberto García-Alix, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, João Louro, João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, Joseph Beuys, Nan Goldin, Nobuyoshi Araki, Paulo Nozolino, Rui Toscano, Sophie Calle, Thomas Struth, Vanessa Beecroft and Vik Muniz, among others. Un Certain Regard will be on view through September 10.
