Julião Sarmento is featured in the exhibition Conversation Piece, curated by Nimfa Bisbe, at Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome, Italy. Featuring works from the "La Caixa" collection of Contemporary Art, the exhibition creates a dialogue between artists of differing poetic voices, united by themes of minimalism, architecture, sculpture and the human form. The exhibition also features the work of artists Agnes Martin, Richard Serra, Donald Judd, Fernanda Fragateiro, Joan Hernández Pijuan, Juan Muñoz, Doris Salcedo, Thomas Schutte, Jana Sterbak, Antoni Tàpies, Ignacio Uriarte and Rachel Whiteread.

Created in 1985, the La Caixa Collection houses over one thousand significant works of international contemporary art. The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea was founded in 1883 to represent the national art of the newly unified state of Italy. The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. Conversation Piece will be on view through September 17, 2017.
