Takehito Koganezawa is featured in the exhibition PLAY at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan. The exhibition presents works by twelve artists from the museum's permanent collection that encompass the spirit of play in all its manifold interpretations. In the exhibition the word 'play' is not limited to the traditional definition of enjoyment or recreation, but is open to much broader interpretations. Play can encompass various activities in our day-to-day lives, from how we navigate interpersonal relationships to the constant act of discovery that occurs just through the very nature of being human. Through the works on display, PLAY encourages the visitor to view playfulness as an essential function of humankind and to incorporate a sense of play in their interactions with the work.

Artists included in the exhibition are Laurie Simmons, Michael Brennand-Wood, Izumi Kato, Yayoi Kasuma, Makiko Koie, Rosemary Laing, Yasumasa Morimura, Sayako Kishimoto, Takehito Koganezawa, Gabriel Orozco, Bojan Šarčević, Hitoshi Ushijima and Kiyoshi Awazu. PLAY will be on view through July 23, 2017.
