Dane Mitchell will present a solo exhibition at the Mori Art Museum in conjunction with the museum's MAM project series – a series of experimental projects produced by the Mori Art Museum in collaboration with artists from around the world.

For the exhibition, following research encompassing the world of traditional Japanese incense to the latest perfume technologies, Mitchell will present works exploring poetic links between the eye as a portal to visual experience and the nose to invisible realms. The word ‘iris’ will play a central role through its many meanings as part of the eye, a flowering plant, an optical device in cameras and the Greek goddess of rainbows.

MAM Project 024: Dane Mitchell will be on view from November 18, 2017 through April 1, 2018.
